- Hosted by Arisa Cox and Andrew Phung, the SOCAN 100th Anniversary Awards took place Sept. 29 at Toronto’s Rebel nightclub.
- Drake led all winners with six trophies, including his fourth Songwriter of the Year (Performer) award, plus three Rap Music awards, one R&B award and one Dance Music award.
- Joni Mitchell received the Cultural Impact Award for Both Sides, Now, with Allison Russell closing the show by performing the song in her honor.
- Evan Blair earned three honors for co-writing Benson Boone’s Beautiful Things, including Songwriter of the Year (Non-Performer), Pop Music and International Song.
- Boi-1da received the Global Impact Award, OZ was named Producer of the Year, Lowell with bülow and Nathan Ferraro won the International Achievement Award for TEXAS HOLD ’EM, and SHUBH was recognized as Breakout Songwriter.
