Drake Cleared from Astroworld Tragedy Lawsuits

A Texas judge has officially dismissed rapper Drake from all civil lawsuits related to the 2021 Astroworld festival crowd crush.

Drake was dismissed from a class-action lawsuit following the 2021 Astroworld Festival, where a crowd crush resulted in 10 deaths and numerous injuries.
The dismissal was granted after arguments that Drake, a guest performer, was not involved in the planning or execution of the event.
Other defendants, including Apple and Travis Scott’s companies, had their dismissal requests denied and remain part of ongoing litigation.
The first trial in the consolidated lawsuits is scheduled to begin on May 6, 2024.
A Harris County grand jury previously cleared Travis Scott of criminal charges, but civil lawsuits continue against him and other organizers.
