Overview

  • Plasencia pleaded guilty July 23 to four federal counts of distributing ketamine in the weeks before Perry’s October 2023 death.
  • In exchange for his plea, prosecutors agreed to drop three additional distribution charges and two counts of falsifying medical records.
  • He admitted obtaining 20 vials of ketamine, lozenges and syringes through another physician for high-cash payments beginning about a month before Perry’s fatal overdose.
  • Plasencia intends to surrender his medical license within 45 days and remains free on bond until his December 3 sentencing hearing.
  • The only remaining defendant in the case, alleged dealer Jasveen Sangha, is scheduled to stand trial in August on charges she supplied the dose that killed Perry.
