Dr Matthew Isles Jailed for Three Years and Ten Months Over Child Sex Offences

The former Royal Stoke consultant was sentenced today after pleading guilty to offences including possession of a paedophile manual alongside communications with a police decoy.

  • Isles received a custodial sentence of three years and ten months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court this morning.
  • Police recovered approximately 90,000 indecent images and videos from his devices, featuring nearly 2,000 category A files, 1,317 category B files, 2,134 category C files, 459 prohibited images and 17 extreme pornographic clips.
  • An undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old on the Bad Guys app exchanged sexually explicit messages with Isles between January 25 and February 6, forming key evidence in his conviction.
  • He pleaded guilty on June 16 to 12 charges, including attempted sexual communication with a child, voyeurism, making and distributing indecent images and possession of a paedophile manual.
  • Isles will remain on the sex offenders’ register for life, is subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and has had his NHS consultancy terminated.
