  • Topics of inquiry include the origins of the pandemic, vaccines, mask mandates, Fauci's alleged efforts to silence dissent about the 'lab-leak theory', and potential conflicts of interest during his tenure.
  • The subcommittee is also investigating Fauci's influence over the US intelligence community regarding the origin of the pandemic, and his role in funding research at Chinese institutions, including the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
  • This is Fauci's first congressional appearance since retiring from public service in December 2022.
