Dr Ambedkar National Merit Awards 2025 Honor 1,490 SC/ST Toppers in New Delhi

Ministers framed the ceremony as a reaffirmation of state support for scholarships, fellowships, and targeted welfare.

Overview

  • The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment felicitated top performers from class 10 and class 12 for the 2021–22 and 2022–23 board cycles drawn from 29 state and central boards.
  • For 2021–22, 367 class 10 and 563 class 12 students were awarded, including 71 toppers; for 2022–23, 198 class 10 and 362 class 12 students were recognized, including 46 toppers.
  • Awardees received one-time cash grants of ₹60,000 for first position, ₹50,000 for second, and ₹40,000 for third under the scheme.
  • A special ₹60,000 prize was given to the highest-scoring girl in cases where no girl appeared among the top three.
  • Union Minister Virendra Kumar presided with Ministers of State Ramdas Athawale and B. L. Verma, who praised the students and emphasized continuity in education-focused welfare without announcing new policies.
