DP World Tour Unveils Rory McIlroy Award Ahead of Dubai Finale

The new honor will recognize the top major performer from 2026 using Race to Dubai points.

Overview

  • Created to mark McIlroy becoming the first European to complete the career Grand Slam, the award will go to the DP World Tour member who earns the most Race to Dubai points across the Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open and The Open.
  • McIlroy is ineligible to win the trophy that bears his name, and he welcomed that stipulation as part of the announcement.
  • The Tour revealed the award in Dubai during DP World Tour Championship week, with the season finale set for November 13–16 at Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Earth Course.
  • McIlroy enters the finale leading the Race to Dubai by 767 points over Marco Penge, with Tyrrell Hatton the only other player still in mathematical contention.
  • A win or solo second secures McIlroy a seventh season title; Penge must win with McIlroy finishing worse than solo second, and Hatton must win to have any chance, as 12,000 ranking points and a $10 million purse ($3 million to the winner) are on the line alongside top‑10 bonus shares and 2026 PGA Tour cards.
