Douglas County Probes Two Trail Reports of Unlawful Sexual Contact by E‑Bike Riders

No arrests have been made as deputies request tips to determine any connection between the cases.

Overview

  • Deputies say women reported separate late‑September incidents in which male riders slapped their buttocks while passing on or near public trails.
  • On Sept. 25 around 7 p.m., a woman walking her dog near Amber Light Trail and Amber Light Avenue north of Sterling Ranch reported a rider approached from behind and struck her.
  • That suspect was described as a white male, possibly in his mid‑20s, with a thin build and sandy brown hair.
  • On Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. in Daniels Park at 7739 Daniels Park Road, a rider reportedly said “on your left” before slapping a woman; he was described as wearing a baggy gray and white jacket.
  • Investigators note a third woman reported a similar experience that day but declined to file, and they ask anyone with information to contact Detective Cataffo at mcataffo@dcsheriff.net or 303‑660‑7505.
