  • Sci-fi writer Doug Jung has been named showrunner for Amazon MGM’s Mass Effect television adaptation.
  • Dan Casey has been scripting the series for almost a year and remains on board as writer and executive producer.
  • The project’s executive producers include Michael Gamble of Electronic Arts, Karim Zreik of Cedar Tree Productions, Ari Arad and Emmy Yu.
  • The series is based on BioWare’s 2007 Mass Effect games, which follow Commander Shepard’s fight against an ancient machine race.
  • Amazon MGM Studios has not announced a release date for the series.
