Dortmund Train Station Ticket Seller Stabbed in Violent Dispute

A 22-year-old suspect is in custody after a ticket shop employee was critically injured in a knife attack following an earlier argument.

A 56-year-old ticket shop employee at Dortmund Hauptbahnhof was stabbed multiple times and initially left in critical condition.
The attack followed an earlier dispute between the employee and a 22-year-old Syrian man, reportedly over a bus ticket extension.
The suspect left the ticket shop after the argument but returned roughly an hour later to carry out the attack with a knife.
The victim is no longer in life-threatening condition and is reportedly conscious and able to communicate with investigators.
Police have secured the crime scene, launched a homicide investigation, and are reviewing surveillance footage from the area.
