Overview
- The Food Standards Agency issued an allergy alert on Friday, July 17, after finding some Doritos Chilli Heatwave packs may contain Tangy Cheese seasoning that lists milk but is not declared on the Chilli Heatwave label.
- PepsiCo has recalled packs bearing batch code GBC 209 184C with a best before date of 05 December 2026 and has instructed customers with milk allergy or intolerance to return the product for a full refund.
- The recall covers 140g packs and has also been reported to include 180g packs with the same batch code and best before date that were sold across major UK supermarkets and smaller retailers.
- PepsiCo has issued point-of-sale notices, set up a consumer helpline for refunds and been advised to contact allergy support organisations to alert vulnerable consumers.
- The incident is one of several recent undeclared-dairy recalls that point to packing-line or supply-chain control failures and raise attention on stronger allergen safeguards.
