Overview
- The Food Standards Agency issued an allergy alert after discovering some Doritos Chilli Heatwave 140g packs may have been filled with Tangy Cheese, which contains milk that is not declared on the Chilli Heatwave label.
- The recall targets 140g packs bearing batch code GBC 209 184C with a best before date of 05 December 2026 and customers are advised not to eat affected packs and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
- PepsiCo has published point-of-sale notices in stores, set up a Consumer Care Line for refunds and inquiries, and been advised to contact allergy support organisations to reach vulnerable consumers.
- The affected packs were sold across major supermarkets and smaller shops in England, Scotland and Wales, which increases the number of potentially exposed shoppers.
- A near-simultaneous Morrisons recall for a different 140g snack over undeclared dairy highlights packing-line and labelling control failures and underlines that milk allergy reactions can range from mild symptoms to life‑threatening anaphylaxis.
