The remake stars Simone Joy Jones as 17-year-old Tanya Crandell, who faces the challenge of adulthood after the unexpected death of their babysitter, balancing work, family, and romance.
Executive produced by Tyra Banks and directed by Wade Allain-Marcus, the film features a cast including Nicole Richie, June Squibb, and newcomers alongside a script by Emmy-nominated writer Chuck Hayward.
The film is scheduled to open exclusively in theaters nationwide on April 12, before later landing on the streaming service BET+.
