Donnie Yen to Lead 'Kung Fu' Remake for Universal

Donnie Yen, known for his roles in 'Ip Man' and 'John Wick: Chapter 4', is set to star in a feature film remake of the 1970s television series 'Kung Fu' for Universal.
David Leitch, director of 'Bullet Train', is producing the film through his company 87North and is also looking to direct.
The screenplay for the 'Kung Fu' remake is being written by 'War Dogs' screenwriter Stephen Chin.
Ed Spielman, the creator of the original 'Kung Fu' television series, will serve as an executive producer on the film.
The original 'Kung Fu' series, which aired from 1972-75, told the story of a Shaolin monk who defended the downtrodden in the American Old West.
