Donnie Wahlberg will reprise his role as Detective Danny Reagan, now taking a position with the Boston Police Department.
The series will pair Reagan with Detective Lena Peters, a new character from a prominent Boston law enforcement family, though casting for Peters has not yet been revealed.
The show is produced by CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television, with Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis serving as showrunners and executive producers.
The original 'Blue Bloods' series ended in December 2024 after 14 seasons, with 'Boston Blue' marking an expansion of the franchise into a new setting.
