Overview
- On Sunday, Luka Dončić led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 131-125 win over the Toronto Raptors with 45 points while also grabbing 15 rebounds, six assists, five steals and making eight 3‑pointers.
- The NBA confirmed Dončić is the first player ever to record 15+ rebounds, 5+ assists, 5+ steals and 5+ made three‑pointers in a single game, a stat line that has no prior match in league records.
- Beyond scoring, Dončić drew three charges, forced turnovers and earned public praise from teammates and coach JJ Redick for noticeably improved defensive effort and awareness.
- The Lakers listed Dončić as available for the next game after a brief early‑season rest for back tightness, keeping him on track through a 5-2 start and a heavy usage workload.
- Despite the breakout performance, the NBA named Victor Wembanyama Player of the Week and prediction markets currently show Wembanyama ahead of Dončić in MVP odds, leaving wider recognition and team record as key factors to watch.
