Donald Trump to Use Two Bibles for Second Inauguration Ceremony
The president-elect will swear in on a Bible gifted by his mother in 1955 and the historic Lincoln Bible on January 20, 2025.
- Donald Trump will take the oath of office for his second presidential term on January 20, 2025.
- He will use two Bibles for the ceremony: one gifted by his late mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, in 1955, and the Lincoln Bible, first used in 1861.
- The Bible from Trump's mother was given to him upon his graduation from Sunday Church Primary School at First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, New York.
- The Lincoln Bible, bound in burgundy velvet, has been used in several historic inaugurations, including those of Abraham Lincoln, Barack Obama, and Trump’s first term in 2017.
- Due to extremely cold weather, the swearing-in ceremony will be moved indoors to the U.S. Capitol Rotunda.
