Dolphins Draft Ohio State TE Will Kacmarek at No. 87

Miami used the No. 87 pick, acquired from Philadelphia in the Jaelan Phillips trade, to draft Ohio State tight end Will Kacmarek.
He is expected to serve as Miami’s blocking tight end behind starter Greg Dulcich.
Ohio State coach Ryan Day called him the toughest and best blocking tight end in the country.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein labels him an old-school Y tight end who excels in run blocking but must improve pad level and hand placement to sustain blocks.
After three seasons at Ohio University and two at Ohio State, he logged modest receiving totals, and many projections had him going on Day 3 before Miami took him in Round 3.
