Dollywood Unveils $50 Million NightFlight Expedition, a First-of-Its-Kind Indoor Coaster–Raft Ride for 2026

Housed in a 44,000-square-foot, temperature-controlled facility, the Wildwood Grove addition uses custom amphibious vehicles and multimedia to deliver a four-part, 5½-minute adventure accessible to riders 39 inches and taller.

Overview

  • The attraction is the largest single-ride investment in Dollywood’s history and is slated to open in spring 2026 in Wildwood Grove.
  • Billed as the world’s first indoor family hybrid coaster and whitewater river raft ride, it blends a night flight, whitewater rapids, mountain coaster elements and a lake voyage in one experience.
  • Dollywood, Herschend Creative Studios and Mack Rides are developing the project, with Mack’s underlying ride system recognized with Amusement Today’s 2025 Golden Ticket for Best New Innovation.
  • Key specs include ten-passenger amphibious vehicles, approximately 1,255 feet of track, speeds up to 29 mph, more than 500,000 gallons powering the rapids and an indoor, weatherproof show building.
  • The story extends Wildwood Grove lore with characters Cora and Jasper Oakley and Hidden Hollow Aviation; 2025 passholders who renew now are promised early access, and themed merchandise is already on sale.
