Overview

• The National Amusement Park Historical Association’s annual survey polls members who manage more than 130 parks on average and evaluates categories from favorite coasters to best new attractions.
• Dollywood spans 165 acres and boasts over 50 rides and attractions, including the Big Bear Mountain roller coaster and a 35-acre water park that welcome about two million visitors each year.
• In March 2025, park officials unveiled plans for a new ride themed around an ancient wildwood tree with construction set to start during the current season.
• Since opening in 1986, the Pigeon Forge park has been co-owned by Dolly Parton and Herschend Family Entertainment and sits at the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
• Dollywood also placed second for “most beautiful park” in the NAPHA survey, while Knoebels Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania topped the favorite traditional amusement park category.
