- Producers announced Tuesday that previews at the St. James Theatre will begin Dec. 7, 2026 and the official opening is set for Jan. 19, 2027, Dolly Parton’s 81st birthday.
- The show is a biographical musical co-written by Parton and Maria S. Schlatter that mixes Parton hits with new songs she wrote for the production.
- Tony winner Bartlett Sher returns to direct and a largely intact creative and music team is attached, including Stephen Oremus, Charity Wicks, John Clancy, Richard Dennison, and Gregg Perry.
- Casting for the Broadway run has not been announced and the production has been reworked from its sold-out Nashville premiere to deepen the storytelling.
- Fan and Capital One presales begin July 8 at 10 a.m. ET and general sales start July 10 at 10 a.m. ET with tickets initially offered through Nov. 21, 2027, giving fans nearly a year of performances to choose from.
