Overview

  • The recall applies to three lots of 8-ounce Clover Valley Instant Coffee (UPC 876941004069; lots L-5163, L-5164 and L-5165) sold July 9–21 exclusively at Dollar General stores in 48 states.
  • A customer report of possible glass fragments prompted the voluntary recall on August 11, and no illnesses or injuries have been reported to date.
  • The FDA warns that ingesting glass may cause tooth damage, lacerations of the mouth or throat, or intestinal perforation.
  • Consumers are urged to discard affected jars and contact Dollar General at [email protected] or 1-888-309-9030 for a full refund.
  • FDA inspectors will perform a hazard assessment to assign the recall a Class I, II or III risk designation.
