Overview
- The Justice Department filed notice to appeal U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut’s Nov. 7 permanent injunction barring deployment of any state’s National Guard to Oregon.
- U.S. Northern Command said it will shift and rightsize its Title 10 footprint in Portland, Los Angeles and Chicago, and officials said 200 California troops in Portland and 200 Texas troops in Chicago will return to their home states.
- Illinois National Guard troops will remain on federal status, Oregon’s federalized contingent will be reduced to 100, and California and Texas will keep volunteer ready forces of 100 and 200 respectively.
