Dog Groomer Fired After Owner Sees Alleged Mistreatment on Salon CCTV

The salon says the RSPCA is satisfied with its response.

Overview

  • Rebecca Quigley says she watched live CCTV at Simply Debonair Dogs in Tranmere on September 5 and recorded footage she says showed her cockapoo being shouted at, pushed and hit.
  • Salon owner Ella Logan apologised, called the behaviour completely unacceptable and said the employee was dismissed as soon as management saw the footage.
  • An RSPCA spokesperson said appropriate action had been taken and confirmed no action would be taken against the business.
  • Merseyside Police said they were aware of the incident but reported that the dog’s owner had not filed a formal complaint.
  • The business highlighted its in-shop CCTV as a transparency measure, described the case as an isolated incident involving a 12‑month employee, and said it has received threats while addressing false rumours about staff ties to the owners.
