Shohei Ohtani, the Los Angeles Dodgers' new superstar, gifted a Porsche to Ashley Kelly, the wife of his teammate Joe Kelly, as a thank you for her social media campaign that helped bring him to the team.
Ashley Kelly's viral #Ohtake17 campaign involved offering up her husband's No. 17 jersey to Ohtani and jokingly changing her seven-month-old’s name from Kai to ShoKai.
Joe Kelly, who had worn No. 17 since 2019, has officially given up the number to Ohtani, who wore that number during his six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels.
Joe Kelly will now wear No. 99 for the Dodgers.
Ohtani recently signed a record 10-year, $700 million deal with the Dodgers, the largest contract in sports history.
