Smith led Dodgers with .333 batting average and 12 RBIs prior to injury.
Austin Wynns, catcher with five MLB seasons experience, signed to replace Smith.
Wynns will start against New York Mets on Monday.
Smith was drafted by Dodgers in 2016 and has 75 career home runs.
