• On July 30, 2025, a white male suspect jumped the gate and smashed the glass back door of Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s Los Angeles home during the pitcher’s road trip.
• A private security guard arrived at the scene and the suspect fled before entering the house or stealing any items.
• The Los Angeles Police Department has opened an attempted burglary investigation and is searching for the unidentified suspect.
• In December 2024 the FBI alerted sports organizations to a nationwide increase in thefts targeting players’ residences during games and road trips.
• This attempt follows similar incidents including the mid-July break-in at Arizona Diamondbacks player Ketel Marte’s home during the All-Star break.
