LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - JULY 21: Tanner Scott #66 of the Los Angeles Dodgers reacts as he leaves the game with medical staff during the ninth inning against the Minnesota Twins at Dodger Stadium on July 21, 2025 in Los Angeles, California.

Overview

  • Tanner Scott was activated from the 15-day IL after a month out with left elbow inflammation, following a one-inning rehab outing on Aug. 20 with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
  • Manager Dave Roberts stopped short of naming a set closer, saying late innings will be matchup-based; Scott has 19 saves and seven blown saves this season.
  • Right-hander Kirby Yates is slated to be activated Saturday after more than three weeks out with lower back pain, adding another late-inning option.
  • To clear a roster spot, the Dodgers optioned right-hander Matt Sauer to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
  • Shohei Ohtani will DH in San Diego with his next pitching start pushed to early next week, as Los Angeles opens with Blake Snell vs. Yu Darvish holding a one-game division lead and the already clinched season-series tiebreaker over San Diego.
