Dodgers Activate Brock Stewart, DFA Jonathan Hernández

The move creates a 40-man roster spot that could allow Tyler Glasnow to return from the 60-day injured list next week if his rehab goes as planned.

The Dodgers activated right-hander Brock Stewart and designated right-hander Jonathan Hernández for assignment on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, in a transaction the team posted on X.
Stewart did not make a minor-league rehab appearance and is expected to be available immediately as a high-leverage reliever after missing about three weeks with shoulder discomfort.
When he has pitched this season Stewart has been effective, posting a 2.45 ERA and a 2.09 xERA across roughly 14 2/3 innings with 14 strikeouts and one save.
Hernández was moved to open roster space after a difficult run this year; he has a 5.68 ERA in 16 appearances and this is his third DFA of the season as the Dodgers cycle bullpen depth.
The activation responds to a thin and injured bullpen that includes stints on the injured list for Edwin Díaz, Blake Treinen, Justin Wrobleski, and others and could give regular relievers more rest if Stewart stays healthy.
