• On May 15, a 7-year-old boy in Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur district fell onto an exposed 8cm nail that pierced his neck and entered his brain
• He was first treated at a local hospital before being transferred to King George’s Medical University in Lucknow for advanced trauma care
• Surgeons conducted a 10-hour procedure on May 16, using neuro-navigation and microsurgery to extract the nail without damaging critical blood vessels
• Following surgery the boy was placed in intensive care and has since made a full recovery under ongoing medical observation
• The team plans to publish a detailed report of the complex case in an international medical journal to guide future neurotrauma surgery
