Doctor Who Season 2 Premieres April 12 with Alan Cumming as Villainous Cartoon

The BBC and Disney+ confirm the return of Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, joined by new companion Belinda Chandra and a unique animated antagonist voiced by Alan Cumming.

Doctor Who's second season with Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor will debut globally on April 12, 2025, with episodes releasing weekly on BBC iPlayer and Disney+.
Varada Sethu joins the cast as Belinda Chandra, a new companion embarking on a dangerous journey with the Doctor, while Millie Gibson returns as Ruby Sunday in a reduced role.
Alan Cumming, who previously appeared as King James I in 2018, voices Mr. Ring-a-Ding, a cartoon character who escapes the screen, causing chaos in a 1952-set episode.
The season will consist of eight episodes, with storylines promising greater threats, mysterious forces, and a quest to return Belinda to Earth.
Showrunner Russell T. Davies highlights the inclusion of guest stars such as Rose Ayling-Ellis and Christopher Chung, as well as returning characters from UNIT, adding depth to the season.
