  • Doctor Who's 60th Anniversary Specials, featuring the return of David Tennant as the 14th Doctor, will premiere on Disney+ starting from November 25, with the remaining two airing on December 2 and December 9.
  • Catherine Tate will also return as Donna Noble, the Doctor's companion, and Neil Patrick Harris will debut as the villainous Toymaker.
  • Although the specials will premiere on Disney+, the platform will only feature new episodes of the franchise. The entirety of seasons 1-13 is not available on Disney+ but can be streamed on Max, and 'Classic Who' episodes are available on BritBox.
  • The first special, 'The Star Beast', will premiere two days after the official 60th anniversary on November 23. Director Rachel Talalay will lead this special, with the next two, 'Wild Blue Yonder' and 'The Giggle', being directed by Tom Kingsley and Chanya Button respectively.
  • Though Tennant will return for the anniversary specials, Ncuti Gatwa is announced to be the Fifteenth Doctor for the series's next season, expected to premiere in 2024, marking him as the first full-time Black Doctor.
