DNA Ties Suspect to Gavà Sexual Assaults After Arrest of Disguised Attacker

Forensic tests on a seized knife strengthened the UCAS investigation, leading to the suspect’s pretrial detention.

Overview

  • Police arrested the man on September 2 in Castelldefels and brought him before Gavà’s investigating court on September 4, after which he was remanded to custody.
  • He is accused of two counts of sexual assault with violence and intimidation, two counts of injury, illegal weapons possession, and robbery with violence and/or intimidation.
  • Investigators say the same assailant attacked two women in Gavà on October 1, 2024, and January 24, 2025, using disguises such as wigs, glasses and a fake mustache while threatening them with a knife and, in one case, a firearm.
  • UCAS teams maintained plainclothes surveillance in the area, identified a suspect matching victim descriptions, and searched his vehicle, seizing wigs, false facial hair and folding knives.
  • Policía Científica reported finding one victim’s DNA in blood on a knife taken from the suspect’s car, providing an objective link as the UCAS-led inquiry continues.
