Overview
- A 91-metre tunnel boring machine completed a 0.792-km passage at Tughlakabad Railway Colony station to form the second of two parallel tunnels on the Golden Line
- Construction crews installed 559 precast concrete rings cast at a mechanised yard in Mundka and cured them with steam to achieve early strength
- The tunnel was excavated at an average depth of 18 metres using the earth pressure balancing method to maintain face stability under dense urban areas
- Sensitive instruments fixed to nearby structures tracked ground movement in real time and confirmed zero settlement beneath existing buildings
- The breakthrough advances Phase IV’s plan to add over 40 km of underground track, accelerating the Aerocity–Tughlakabad corridor toward operational readiness
