- Amit Shah had asserted that his party’s victories in Delhi, Haryana and Maharashtra would be followed by gains in Tamil Nadu.
- Raja accused the BJP of being jittery about the state’s Dravidian philosophy and of promoting a “one language, one nation, one religion” agenda.
- BJP vice president Narayanan Thirupathy condemned Raja’s words as “uncultured” and said only “idiots” resort to such insults out of frustration over lost power.
- The spat comes as the BJP presses allies on proposed constituency delimitation that could redraw Tamil Nadu’s parliamentary map ahead of the 2026 Assembly election.
