Overview

  • The ATP Tour rebranded the Belgrade Open as the Hellenic Championship for Nov. 2–8 in Athens, retaining indoor hard-court conditions.
  • Djokovic’s family, which holds the tournament license, moved the event after Serbia Open organizers said they could not guarantee the necessary dates and facilities in Belgrade.
  • The relocation follows Djokovic’s June meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis about hosting the tournament in Athens.
  • Djokovic withdrew from the Toronto Masters citing a groin injury and then pulled out of Cincinnati for a non-medical reason.
  • He will begin the US Open without competitive hard-court play since his Wimbledon semifinal on July 11.
