Djokovic Ignites Controversy, Fuels Kosovo Tensions with Post-Match Message

The message aggravated tensions between Serbia and Kosovo, which declared independence in 2008 but is not recognized by Serbia.
Over 30 NATO peacekeeping soldiers were injured in clashes with Serb protesters demanding the removal of recently elected ethnic Albanian mayors in northern Kosovo.
Kosovo accused Djokovic of using his status to raise tensions while the French Open said Djokovic's action did not harm the tournament's interests.
Djokovic said he felt a responsibility as a public figure to express support for Serbia, where his father was born.
