DJI Launches Mic 3, a Smaller Wireless Mic With Timecode and 4‑TX/8‑RX Support

Europe gets the downsized, pro‑grade system first, with U.S. availability to follow.

Overview

  • DJI’s Mic 3 is on sale in Europe at around €309 for a kit with two transmitters, one receiver and a charging case, or €199 for a one‑TX/one‑RX set, with U.S. sales not starting immediately.
  • It supports up to four transmitters and eight receivers and adds high‑precision timecode that DJI says stays within one frame over 24 hours.
  • Each 16‑gram transmitter records dual files internally at 24‑bit or 32‑bit float to 32GB of onboard storage for backup and safety.
  • The system auto‑hops between 2.4GHz and 5GHz for more reliable links up to a claimed 400 meters and introduces two Adaptive Gain modes, three voice tone presets and two‑level noise cancelling.
  • Transmitters are rated for up to eight hours and the receiver for up to ten, with about 28 extra hours from the charging case; the transmitters drop the 3.5mm lav input, while the receiver offers TRS/TRRS/USB‑C and phones can connect over Bluetooth.
