Diverse Investor Group, Including Dallas Turner and Issa Rae, Acquires U.S. SailGP Team

The group, led by Avenue Sports Fund, marks the largest team acquisition in SailGP history with Taylor Canfield as the team driver.

Dallas Turner, Alabama linebacker, and actress Issa Rae are part of a diverse group of investors who have purchased the United States SailGP Team.
The group also includes founding Uber engineer Ryan McKillen, professional sailor Mike Buckley, and other notable figures from the sports, technology, entertainment, and media industries.
The Avenue Sports Fund, led by Avenue Capital Group CEO Marc Lasry, is the lead investor in the largest team acquisition in SailGP history.
Seven-time world champion sailor Taylor Canfield has been appointed as the team driver.
The next regatta for the U.S. SailGP Team is in Dubai on Dec. 9-10.
