Districts across Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra to plant over one million saplings for World Environment Day

Forest nurseries alongside government agencies will supply seedlings across districts under a structured plan to bolster green cover.

  • Nandyal district plans to plant 100,000 saplings across 489 gram panchayats along with 30 saplings in each of its 1,300 government schools and 1,000 saplings in welfare hostels.
  • Anantapur district has set a goal of 385,000 plantings and arranged 1.225 million saplings for distribution through 14 forest nurseries.
  • Kurnool district administration aims to plant 420,000 saplings with 500,000 seedlings secured from seven local nurseries.
  • Krishna district will plant 292,000 saplings supported by officials coordinating over 250,000 seedlings ready at four mandal-level nurseries.
  • Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district intends to place 100 saplings in each village and 200 in every municipal zone backed by 433,000 saplings from forest and social forestry departments.
