Overview
- Disney-owned networks, including ABC and all ESPN channels, have been off YouTube TV since the Oct. 30 contract lapse, leaving roughly 8–10 million subscribers at risk of missing the Cardinals–Cowboys game tonight unless a last-minute deal emerges.
- Disney asked YouTube TV to temporarily restore ABC on Nov. 4 so subscribers can access election coverage, and YouTube TV has not publicly responded to that request.
- Disney leaders accuse Google of using market dominance to undercut content value, while YouTube TV says Disney’s demands would raise prices for customers and favor Disney’s own bundles.
- Viewers can still watch via alternatives such as over-the-air ABC where the game is simulcast, streaming services like Fubo or Sling’s short-term passes, or ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer option, ESPN Unlimited.
- YouTube TV says it will issue a one-time $20 credit if the outage persists; ESPN made College GameDay free to stream over the weekend, and other recent YouTube TV carriage talks with Fox and NBCUniversal were resolved even as TelevisaUnivision remains off the service.
