Overview

  • The Comprehensive Plan 2045 allocates 400 to 500 acres for a potential fifth major theme park at Walt Disney World resort.
  • Approximately 147 acres have been set aside for each of two smaller “minor” parks, which could serve as water parks or similar attractions.
  • While Disney has not officially confirmed the proposals, the plan anticipates adding a minor park by 2030, a second by 2035 and the major gate between 2035 and 2045.
  • Projected attendance in the plan climbs from 51.2 million visitors in 2023 to 99.3 million annually by 2045, reflecting a 94% increase.
  • The development framework also covers new resort hotels, expanded shopping and dining zones, entertainment areas and other infrastructure tied to Disney’s $17 billion Orlando investment commitment.
