Overview

  • Disneyland will close the Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! ride in early 2026 to clear space in the Hollywood Backlot for a new Avatar: The Way of Water–inspired land.
  • Concept art released by Disney shows guests aboard a boat navigating a bioluminescent lagoon and encountering a Tulkun in the upcoming Pandora expansion.
  • Construction on a first-ever Coco-themed attraction is slated to begin in autumn 2025 with music, characters and settings drawn from the film.
  • The resort plans two new Avengers attractions alongside a 6,000-space east-side parking structure equipped with shuttle and rideshare areas plus a pedestrian bridge to the transportation hub.
  • Parallel expansions include a Monstropolis land opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida and a Frozen-themed area under development at Disneyland Paris.
