Overview

  • Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will close in early 2026 to clear space in Disney California Adventure’s Hollywood Backlot for a new Avatar-themed land.
  • The upcoming Avatar land, inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water, will transform a section of the park with immersive, water-themed attractions still in development.
  • A first-ever Coco ride is set to begin construction in fall 2025 near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, featuring music and characters from the Pixar film.
  • Disneyland Resort also plans two new Avengers Campus attractions and a multi-level parking structure with 6,000 spaces plus shuttle, rideshare and pedestrian bridge facilities.
  • Walt Disney World is set to expand with a Cars-themed Piston Peak land and a Monstropolis area at Hollywood Studios featuring the park’s first suspended roller coaster.
