Disneyland Moves Kingdom Hearts Pin Drop to App-Based Virtual Queue

The change ties purchases to single My Disney accounts with a 60-mile eligibility rule to limit scalping and long standby lines.

Overview

  • Disneyland Resort announced the November pin release at Downtown Disney will use the Disneyland app for a boarding-group virtual queue that opens at 5:00 a.m. PT.
  • Only guests within a 60-mile radius may join and each person must join once with their own My Disney account; groups and linked boarding passes are not allowed.
  • When a boarding group is called guests must scan a QR-code at Disney’s Pin Traders to enter and buy, and there will be no standby line while the virtual queue is operating.
  • If inventory remains after virtual-queue distribution, Disneyland may open a later standby queue, but joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to buy specific pins.
  • The move follows recent virtual queues for other limited drops and responds to repeated sellouts and high resale prices for the monthly Kingdom Hearts pin series, which has driven tighter access controls and earlier on-site openings.
