Disneyland Marks 70th With ‘70 Happiest Hours’ Across Anaheim

The three-day outreach runs through Aug. 22 with more surprise events promised.

Overview

  • Day one opened at Crescent Elementary, where over 800 students and staff were greeted by characters, live entertainment, breakfast treats, and each received a plush Mickey Mouse.
  • At Ponderosa Elementary, more than 250 third- and fourth-graders attended a reading event featuring a surprise reading by author Ridley Pearson alongside a $15,000 donation voucher for the school.
  • Local seniors at Brookhurst Community Center enjoyed a sixties-themed sock hop with a live band, lunch, Disney-themed treats, and games.
  • Nearly 100 participants at the Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim met Donald and Daisy Duck, did crafts with Disney VoluntEARS, and took home snacks and novelty popcorn buckets.
  • The day ended with a community block party at Ponderosa Park featuring characters, live entertainment, giveaways, and a visit from Disneyland Resort President Thomas Mazloum.
