Disneyland Ends Early Entry for Hotel Guests, Replaces It With One-Time Lightning Lane Credit

The change caps years of rollbacks, reflecting Disney’s view that the perk saw limited use.

Overview

  • Effective Jan. 5, 2026, the 30-minute Early Entry at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure is discontinued for guests of the three on-site hotels.
  • In its place, hotel guests receive one complimentary Lightning Lane entry per guest, per stay, usable only on Multi Pass attractions, a paid service that typically costs upward of about $30 per person per day.
  • The credit cannot be applied to Single Pass headliners such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance or Radiator Springs Racers.
  • The complimentary entry appears in the Disneyland app at check-in, with access available as early as 7 a.m. on arrival day when using online check-in.
  • The retirement follows earlier reductions from a one-hour window pre-pandemic to 30 minutes and then alternating-park access in 2024, prompting complaints that on-property value has slipped versus nearby Good Neighbor hotels.
