Overview
- Mad Tea Party, which closed Monday, September 14, 2026, entered a refurbishment period confirmed by Disneyland Resort with no scheduled date to resume operations.
- Park staff and guests found both Mad Tea Party and Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island shuttered as planned, though Disneyland's calendar lists a tentative September 17 reopening only for Pirate's Lair.
- The attraction's official webpage currently states it is closed for refurbishment and asks visitors to check back for updates, and Disneyland has offered no technical details about the work.
- Reporting notes that, because the ride has operated since July 17, 1955, Disney is likely to focus on repairing aging spinning mechanisms and other safety-related components rather than cosmetic changes.
- The closure removes a longtime Fantasyland experience for visitors and could affect daily park operations and guest plans until Disneyland posts a reopening date, so guests should monitor the resort calendar for updates.
