Overview
- Disneyland Resort held an official groundbreaking on Monday, Aug. 24, and crews have begun vertical construction at the Eastern Gateway site.
- The eight-story facility is planned to include about 6,000 parking spaces, roughly 302 electric vehicle chargers, a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard, dedicated shuttle and rideshare zones, and a security headquarters.
- Construction is using part of the former Manchester cast member parking lot and has required demolition of nearby structures and removal of esplanade ticket booths to clear space for the bridge.
- Disney has not announced an opening date and says construction will span multiple years as work proceeds in phases across the resort.
- Disney positions the project as the foundational infrastructure for DisneylandForward and says the hub will support planned additions such as Avengers Campus expansions, a Coco attraction, and an Avatar experience while creating local construction jobs.
