Disney World to Close Muppet*Vision 3D and Re-theme Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with Muppets

The closure of the long-running Muppet attraction will make way for a Monsters, Inc.-themed land, while the Muppets will debut in their first-ever Disney ride.

Muppet*Vision 3D, a 33-year-old attraction and one of Jim Henson's final projects, will close at Hollywood Studios to accommodate a new Monsters, Inc.-themed land set to begin construction in 2025.
The Muppets will move to the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, which will be re-themed into a Muppet-inspired music festival featuring Kermit, Miss Piggy, and other characters alongside music stars.
The Monsters, Inc. land, announced earlier this year, will feature a suspended roller coaster, dining, and retail experiences inspired by the Pixar film franchise.
Disney has not provided specific closure dates for Muppet*Vision 3D or the Aerosmith-themed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster but assured guests there is still time to experience the attractions in their current forms.
The company is exploring ways to preserve elements of Muppet*Vision 3D, including its film, which holds historical significance as one of Jim Henson's last creative works.
